Type of homes...
I've been living in birmingham for over 2 years and I've got to say Moseley sounds like it has a good reputation I thought I'll go there and I was shocked how boring and awful boring Moseley actually is and people have told me it used to be good but now it is boring and I agree.
Moseley seems to have amazing terraced homes so there needs to be more terracesd housing built in Mosele, need as many as you can build.
There is a massive shortage of urban flats and apartments in Moseley, i've looked all over the Moseley area and there is no urban apartments or flats around, so new homes for Moseley should be ....
... more terraced housing to fit in with Moseley's area and character, and new urban apartments and flats (and you need loads as there is non in Moseley what so ever, look at Londons urban apartment boroughs and replicate that in Moseley) for the new generation that Moseley could attract if these were built.

Moseley does NOT need flats! Moseley needs more family homes NOT flats! If Moseley is boring....I suggest you go and live in London, since it sounds like flat heaven. Moseley is an historic area, we do not need hundreds of empty flats similar to Brum city centre in Moseley!
Moseley DOES NEED MORE FLATS and Moseley DOES NEED MORE APARTMENTS, there's a massive shortage here, kick out all the old people out of Moseley and throw them in solihull.
I agree with the above post completely!! This is exactly what is needed in Moseley, this above post is spot on!!!

Moseley does not need a bunch of young drunken morons, running around and destroying the area. Firstly, there is no land to build your flats and secondly, you probably could not even afford them if they were built! Moseley needs more families and more wealthy working people!...Moseley does NOT need and does not want even more bedsits for dossers on the dole...who do nothing all day except get drunk!
Moseley does not need more flats or more houses. There are plenty of both already. There are, however, a small number of building plots available. In these areas we should build flats and houses. It doesn't matter which as long as they are of good quality and 'up market'.
Good quality flats bring young proffesionals to the area with high dispossable incomes. They spend their money in the local area and have helped make Moseley what it is today. Large family homes are needed for wealthy people who work in the city centre. We want these people to live in Birmingham, rather than commuting to Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Herrefordshire etc.
We should concentrate on replacing the poor quality flats and houses with good quality versions. Most of the stuff built in the sixties, seventies, eighties and nineties is ugly and needs demolishing. It doesn't matter if they're replaced with flats or houses as long as they fit in with the Victorian/Edwardian architecture and they bring the rite people to moseley.
Houses that have been turned into bedsits should be turned back into family homes or propperly converted into flats. Half-way houses and out reach centres should also be turned into high quality family homes or flats.
There is no need for affordable housing. There is plenty of affordable housing in Kings Heath, Balsall Heath, Stirchley, Spark Brook, Highgate, Kings Norton, Winson Green etc etc. No one has a right to live in Moseley. If they can't afford it thats life. Thats just the way it is. Affordable housing ruins areas. Just look at what its done to Balsall Heath!
Why should half way housing and outreach centres be turned into family homes and flats? Moseleyites living in them have been here as long as anyone else. People that need supported accommodation have as much right to live in Moseley as anyone else. Even posh people in posh houses can have breakdowns or become alcoholics, so why banish them to some other part of town when it happens?
I grew up in a family house in Moseley and now live in Moseley in a flat and have lived in a hostel in Moseley in between. I didn't cease to be a Moseleyite the day I got ill. Hopefully, when I get old, I shall live in supported accommodation in Moseley, maybe finishing off in a nursing home in Moseley.
All i can say is Moseley is a beautiful village, historic and people actually come to see/visit beautiful Moseley!" Please please maintain the culture and pride of this lovely village! Abash flats, city centre moves
As someone who has rented most of my time in Moseley and done plenty of volunteer work - i have to say I love Moseley for its character. There is a huge sense of community here - many wouldn't notice it because they don't like "community Groups" or just aren't interested but there are many groups in moseley that work together to try and make it a better place. Some people say that is people being busy bodies - but what is wrong with taking an interest in where you live and having a voice?
Unfortunately i am unable to buy here and am unlikely to ever be able to unless i buy a tiny one bedroomed apartment. The property is extremely expensive - prices have rocketed way above inflation here.
As such - i have now moved away from Moseley. I therefore am unable to participate in the activities within the community. it's a huge shame but then this is where so many of us are now. Its not only Moseley that has this problem - true but there does need to be some form of affordable housing.
Moseley has a vibrant nightlife - nice pubs, bars and resuarants - all of which entices many people here and ultimately give Moseley its character - and lets not forget - a good financial economy. Without these establishments - Moseley would have even more empty shop fronts!
