1. How can we make the village centre better?:
Extend the retail frontage design to alcester road shops as in St. Mary's Row, to enhance conservation status.
Need to define core shopping area and ban any more take-a-way shops, pubs and betting shops.
2. How could we attract more local jobs?:
survey local homes and ask what is needed in way of small industry and shops. What skills are available.
3. How could we make it easier to get to work, school and the shops?:
Re-open railway station
4. What should we do to protect or improve our historic buildings and parks?:
Need for a designated Park Ranger for Highbury Park to monitor use and liaise with schools, residents associations.
6. In the future, what types of homes will be needed?:
no more flats to be built - already a surplus. Need affordable family homes. Big derelict site in school road/paton grove could be used.
