Moseley CDT employs two Street Wardens, Kim Monaghan and Graham Flint, who work to make Moseley a better place to live.
Their employment was made possible with support from the
Government's Neighbourhood Renewal Fund and from Birmingham City Council.

Here are some of the activities that the wardens undertake:
Support for vulnerable people
The street wardens give support to vulnerable people at risk from burglary, vehicle crime and street robbery. They undertake regular patrols of part of the
neighbourhood and in particular the village area, which has helped Police to reduce burglaries and car crime. The wardens have distributed property marking kits to
local homes and helped elderly people obtain panic alarms from the Police.
Reduction in street drinking
Street drinkers have been part of Moseley for a long time. The wardens work alongside HARP who run a drop-in centre at St. Mary's Church to encourage
street drinkers to find help. This has allowed the wardens to get to know the drinkers and help out local traders when individuals occasionally lose control.
Improvements to the local environment
During their patrols the wardens regularly report to the city council details of abandoned vehicles, fly-tipping, graffiti and vandalism. They are often able to
organise the removal of rubbish by the city's Environmental Services Department. They also actively support the Moseley Society, who undertake activities
such as cleaning the car-park each month.
Support for community activities
The wardens are always busy helping at the monthly Farmers' Market, and they are also involved with the Street Fair, Moseley Festival and Moseley
Youth Forum activities.
Here is what Graham and Kim say about their work:
"As Moseley Street Wardens we contribute to community safety by patrolling the main shopping area and outlying residential neighbourhoods.
This has helped to reduce burglary, robbery and car crime in the area.
We are in regular communication with street drinkers ensuring that they pose no danger to the public or to each other.
As we patrol we make notes regarding litter, fly-tipping, graffiti, anti-social behaviour etc.
This has satellite benefits for the whole community because a clean and tidy neighbourhood gives residents a stronger sense of ownership, which in turn
discourages criminal elements from gaining a foothold."
